This static website may contain just metadata about the book and links to download, or the book content, it is up to the author. They can also have a sample of the book on the site and unlock the rest of the chapters when the reader is WM-enabled.
I've been focusing on the eBook generation first because it is harder. There are a lot of little gotchas to get an EPUB that passes "Adobe Epubcheck" validation. I believe that next week I'll be ready to start on the site generation.
All the WM tech is on the site that is generated. I can see this as a way for indie authors to control their platforms and monetize them.
OK good to know, will be good to play with those WM aspects on the website. I believe single payments is a Coil feature that will ship soon. I wonder if it would be fun to experiment with "pay what you want models"
The use case I want to implement is unlocking extra chapters on the site for users who are webmonetized. I suspect this is not that hard. Later once single-payment is more mature I can look into it as well.
