Our Speakers
Sharon Mizota
Sharon Mizota is a DEI metadata consultant who helps archives, museums, libraries, and media organizations transform and share their metadata to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion in the historical record. She has over ten years of experience managing and creating metadata for arts and culture organizations. She is also an art critic, a recipient of an Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers’ Grant, and a coauthor of the award-winning book, Fresh Talk/Daring Gazes: Conversations on Asian American Art.
Jane Anderson
Jane Anderson is an Associate Professor at New York University (NYU) in Lenapehoking (New York) and Global Fellow in the Engelberg Center for Innovation Law and Policy in the Law School and co-Director of ENRICH at NYU. Jane has a Ph.D. in Law from the Law School at University of New South Wales in Australia. Their work is focused on intellectual and cultural property law, Indigenous rights and the protection of Indigenous/traditional knowledge and cultural heritage. Jane is the co-founder of Local Contexts which delivers the TK (Traditional Knowledge) and BC (Biocultural) Labels and Notices.
Manu Samriti
Manu Samriti Chander is Associate Professor of English at Rutgers University-Newark and a Creationist board member. Professor Chander is the author of Brown Romantics: Poetry and Nationalism in the Global Nineteenth Century and co-editor of the Oxford University Press book series Race in Nineteenth-Century Literature and Culture. The recipient of grants from the Fulbright Program and the National Endowment for the Humanities, Chander is currently editing the collected works of the Guyanese poet Egbert Martin and The Cambridge Companion to Romanticism and Race. He is also Newark Chapter President of Rutgers AAUP-AFT and a founding member of The Bigger 6 Collective, formed in 2017 to challenge structural racism in the academic study of Romanticism.
