Community Participation Guidelines

About the Interledger Community

Our mission is to build equity and inclusion within Interledger, the global payments network for inclusive digital financial service providers.

We work with entrepreneurs, organizations, and government agencies to research, prototype, and implement Open Standards aligned with our mission. We actively support underrepresented groups and vulnerable populations to advance digital financial inclusion, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

The Interledger Foundation (ILF) welcomes everyone who shares our vision of an open, fair, and financially inclusive web to apply for our applicable grant opportunities and/or engage with members of our ecosystem. These Participation Guidelines are intended to create a safe and positive community experience for us all, regardless of:

  • Ancestry
  • Family status
  • Medical condition
  • Gender identity or expression
  • Military or veteran status
  • Sex
  • Sexual orientation
  • Native language
  • Age
  • Disability
  • Race and/or ethnicity
  • National origin
  • Socioeconomic status
  • Religion
  • Geographic location

We welcome individuals into our space who will appreciate and accommodate our diverse cultural practices, attitudes, and beliefs, and maintain decorum that is

  • Respectful and Inclusive
  • Enabling new perspectives to be heard
  • Facilitating an openness to learn from others

Unacceptable Behavior
The following will not be tolerated in the Interledger community, online or in person: violence and threats of violence; personal attacks; bullying; doxing; derogatory language; threats; hate speech; promoting harmful or illegal activities; unwelcome sexual attention or physical contact; non-consensual sharing of adult content; disruptive behavior, or influencing unacceptable behavior; or any other conduct that ILF deems as offensive or inappropriate to protect community members.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behavior from anyone involved in the ILF community, including those with decision-making authority, will not be tolerated and will be dealt with appropriately.

Violation of these guidelines can result in being banned from online and physical spaces and can lead to the cancellation of a grant, contract, award, stipend, or partnership.

Program staff or contractors in violation of these guidelines may be subject to further consequences, such as disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract.

ILF reserves the right to address unacceptable behavior at any time at its discretion.
