Interledger Foundation is Accepting Letters of Intent (LOI) from Institutions Seeking to Shape the Future Digital Financial Inclusion Leaders.
Interledger Foundation is interested in collaborating with a diverse set of higher education institutions that are well-positioned to create or build on existing institutional structures that will provide students with real-world opportunities that support open source practices, open payments technologies and inclusive digital financial systems.
What we’re looking for:
- Letters of Intent (LOIs) from educators in higher education institutions to build campus and classroom programs that expose students to emerging open payment technologies with the potential to disrupt the economic landscape.
- A proposed 12-month project that will produce diverse pathways for undergraduate and/or graduate students in creating a future where people build fairer, inclusive, and interoperable payment networks; with a budget of up to $50,000 USD

Digital Financial Services Apply for up to $250,000 in grant funding. Join Interledger – The Global Network for Inclusive Financial Service Providers.
Interledger Foundation welcomes proposals for financial services, products, and innovative solutions geared toward benefitting underserved and underrepresented communities. The goal of this grant program is to create an ecosystem that facilitates secure, private, fast, and free payments across currencies and ledgers.
What we’re looking for:
ILF through this grant program seeks financial services and innovative financial solutions that can foster greater adoption and usage within the Interledger Network and/or is flexible to enable payments with Interledger via innovative digital payment products, platforms, or apps. For this grant cycle, the foundation is accepting projects with a 12-month timeline with a capped budget, per the applicable track option:
- Track 1: Interledger |Enabled (up to $250,000.00) Designed for digital financial service providers—including digital wallets, mobile money providers, banks, savings co-ops, and neo-banks—this track helps integrate Rafiki into existing financial infrastructures, establishing new financial nodes on the Interledger Network.
- Track 2: Interledger |Unlocked (up to $150,000.00) For web-based platforms (e.g., e-commerce sites, donation platforms) that want to expand payment options for users by integrating Open Payments APIs into their systems.
