Back in the day there were web rings, a simple way to help people find sites that were related and foster a bit of community.
I wonder if thereβs something that the WM community could do to help build that sort of network effect. People coming to a WM enabled site with Coil installed are probably interested in finding other WM enabled sites...

Had not heard of web rings before.
From what I am reading, web rings seem to have been organised around themes, topics, social interests etc. Memeing- the platform we are developing - is designed to capture interests rather than attention, so is ideal for replicating the type of links that connected web rings.
Furthermore, Memeing will enable the creation of WM enabled web pages, all of which will be linked by ideas, topics, themes etc through our indexing and metadata classification framework.

According to Wikipedia, webring is the thing back in 1990~2000. I'm in kindergarten when this still popular... I didn't even know the internet back then.

Now I'm thinking about how we could couple this with geographic proximity networks. Intriguing.
