Adoption: Quickest way for users to get payment pointer?

We are building features for our website that allow post authors and commenters to receive payments. We are therefore trying to make it as easy as possible for them to get their own wallet/payment pointer and get started. The wallet providers we've looked at so far have fairly slow/indefinite KYC periods, patchy support/documentation, problematic user interfaces – all in all, we find this is likely to be one of the biggest blockers to adoption.

Can anyone recommend a very fast and smooth way for users to get a payment pointer that they can then use on our platform? Something like Metamask for Ethereum addresses would be better.

Thanks,
Matt

Current wallet providers that implement ILP indeed too strict with their KYC form. As I recall I got approved in Paypal and Payoneer fairly easy but when current wallet providers either isn't available in my country or they required extra paper that might make it difficult for people who doesn't have formal paper for their residency (renting a room, perhaps, as most students do).

Unfortunately I don't have solution for this except to wait for digital wallet companies based on countries with less strict KYC process to support ILP. It's a shame we don't have informal wallet like XRP tipbot again. XRP tipbot was great for people who want to try Web Monetization but still not ready going through the hassle of sending documents for digital wallet KYC approval.

We've only tried to get payment pointers through Uphold. Really interested to see what this new faster method will look like.

Same thoughts/issues. I noticed that XRPTipBot still works with an ILP like twitter.xrptipbot.com/username but I’m not sure how long for (they’ve moved a lot into uphold), but would mean anyone with a Twitter account can have an ilp determined, and also enables tipping the creators (of the consumer has an XRPTipBot account, too). I’ve been meaning to reach out to Wietse to see if this feature is here to stay or being killed off - I don’t know if he’s on here?

Looks like XRPTipBot ILP's are no longer supported, which is a shame.

I’ve been wondering about sending a small fraction of an xrp to people on uphold via their email - not ideal, and locks users in to one provider (which are a another problem...), but does seem to be the easiest way of getting people a working wallet.
