Join us for the next GftW Community Call on May 23!

Hello Community,

We’re excited to continue our monthly series of community engagements and are pleased to invite you to our next Community Call on May 23, 2022 at 2:00 pm EDT / 6:00 pm UTC hosted by Grant for the Web awardee Erika Kitzmiller, an historian of race, inequality, and education whose scholarship examines the historical process and current reform efforts that have contributed to inequality today.

To register go to: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/329267206077

Erika’s project, Central PA Info Hub, recently renamed the 11/30 Youth Collaborative, is a youth-driven first-person storytelling project that showcases the voices and stories of individuals who call Chambersburg, PA home, presenting a fuller picture of the community for the community. The project aims to support the development of first-person narratives, particularly among young, marginalized individuals.

Community Call
Erika Kitzmiller and Steven Goss, advisors for the 11/30 Youth Collaborative project will provide an overview of the project and invite attendees to discuss the potentials and limitations of web monetization for grassroots, community-based projects.

Agenda:

  • Project Overview
  • Project Monetization
  • Q&A
  • Open Discussion

This call will be an hour. We will use Zoom and collaborative note taking for this event.

We acknowledge that for a global community this time may not be friendly to all timezones so we will be recording the call to share and commit to moving these monthly meetings to different times going forward.

This is an ongoing series of live community gatherings that will focus on building connections, sharing knowledge, and advancing the Web Monetization ecosystem.

We do hope you can join us on May 23!
