Both personally and on the behalf of CLink Media we are excited to be a part of the community. We applaud the creators of the Interledger Protocol (ILP) for bringing a flexible payment system to the internet society. Among many of us, our team is working on implementing ILP and we are looking forward to building relationships in the community.
We believe that ILP will make a significant change in making payment for online content. We also believe that ILP is only a part of the solution for a deeper-rooted problem. Legitimate commerce relies on identifying, marketing, discovering, selling, buying authentic products, and making payments therefor. I posted my views on the related issues and on the inspirations of our work.
Facilitating payment - regardless of its relevance - is only an element of the e-commerce ecosystem. We are working on an interoperable global infrastructure for asserting attribution and rights information, and for providing tools for legitimate reuse of online content.
The CLink platform is built on a proven and scalable Digital Object Architecture developed by the team of Robert Kahn, the co-inventor of TCP-IP. The data models are utilizing the framework of theΒ Linked Content Coalition designed and tested to be interoperable with public and private metadata schemas. We have currently mapped to C4, IPTC, ISCC, ISNI, ORCID, and PLUS standards. The infrastructure is agnostic of blockchain, distributed or centralized identifiers/metadata. Our intent is to create a synergy with ILP.
You can see the basic flow in this overview. We have announced features for image licensing, connectors for the digital asset management ecosystem, and content authentication by certified archives. (note: links point to web-monetized pages)
The announced features are available through private beta. We have a plan for βfull-scaleβ implementation of ILP that includes facilitating payments for any licensed media types (besides providing view-based web-monetization through Coil).
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions, comments you may have.
Looking forward to hearing from and working with you.
