I just recently learned about XRPL Grant. This is perfect for technologist / developers creating projects on the XRP Ledger. :) Deadline is Oct 29th. Here is what they said on the site:
- Our focus area for the second wave relates to the development of sidechains on the XRP Ledger such as:
- Launching a custom/specialized XRPL sidechain
- Sidechains support in XRPL explorers
- Tools and services for sidechains
I saw interledger and Coil mentioned in the application so I thought why not share it here:

Ripple Creators Fund <3
Also thought this grant maybe interesting for the creators in the group: https://ripple.com/creatorfund
I am currently exploring ideas on way to use NFTs to help creators build an additional income stream. Some general ways NFTs can be used:
- Sell visual art (graphic, video etc)
- Sell audio files
- Tie the visual art to tangible thing (performances, clothing, music album, etc)
- Sell membership to organization/ club
Anyone savvy creating NFT dev or tech id love to chat!

I wish it was simpler to launch NFTs and DAOs on top of Ripple... I guess that's what the Creator Fund is focused on! Even better is if it was all built into Web Monetization, but I feel that's where the spirit of Coil and Web Monetization is moving towards. I just wish payouts weren't just depends on time spent.
Yea the Creator Fund seems to want creators, developers, brands to all work together to make it more seamless. In reality it can be built into Web Monetization if the platform used has Coil for payment.... Interledger has XRP payments available for creators right so wouldnt that be similar?
I... think so? I'm still a little confused about how Interledger and XRP payments are connected, and how Interledger, Coil, and Web Monetization is connected. If Payment Pointers could be directly connected to multiple wallets, or be interchangeable with wallet addresses that would be interesting.
I wish someone could do a writeup on how Interledger/Coil/Web Monetization differs from other wallets and systems. As far as I understand, Interledger, Coil, and Web Monetization is an offshoot of Ripple, so prefers XRP, but I'm confused as to why and it's different from sending payments directly to wallet addresses. It would be really cool if one could send and received NFT into a Web Monetized / Interledger / Payment Pointer-supported wallet!
I've also been a bit surprised with how complicated wallets like Gatehub are compared to something like Metamask, which takes like a minute to set up and don't need any KYC.
I agree with Gatehub's complication. Metamask is so seamless. Maybe that will be a new iteration? Because if it was as seamless as metamask adoption would be eaiser, in my opinion.
Yeah I completely agree! We're trying to explain Coil to our community members for our grant project and everyone's eyes just kind of... completely glaze over. I had to spend 2-3 hours explaining how it all works to my project partner.
I don't think any amount of explainers will make it easier- the workflow and the wallets need to be redesigned. Really hoping the team can get wallet providers to adopt the Rafiki system soon.
Jan, we feel your pain. Working at how we might use funding to start to support the ecosystem better.
Great pointers Victoria and Jan. Here's a thread that might be also be helpful forum.interledger.org/t/community-...
We helped them develop this!
oooooo that makes sense :)
Thanks for sharing, Victoria.
There's also a $250m Creator fund that people might also be interested in.

Thanks I shared that as well :).
We got the one we applied for. Starting to pull together the different pieces. Will update on here when things start landing.
Congrats Simon. I will definitely look out for it.
There is a conversation thread on the intersection between web monetization and NFTs in Web Monetization + NFT = ... ? Come join!
