It's been an exciting week in the Web Monetization ecosystem as the announcement of The Grand MozFest Web Monetization Experiment has begun to trickle out in what's to come at MozFest this year. Included within this experiment will be access to Coil's new tipping feature for all MozFest attendees!

I am quite excited about this MozFest experiment, as it promises to create a bit of an incubator for Web Monetization unlike any that our community has yet to see. The sooner you get involved the greater the potential rewards from the experiment, including the potential to be featured in the MozFest Web Monetization Galleries. What is The Grand MozFest Web Monetization Experiment, you ask?
It is an experiment to see how the creative minds of the MozFest Community can apply the Web Monetization Standard to their MozFest resources and assets to raise money for an Internet Health initiative of their choosing, inclusive of their own work.
What does this mean for MozFest attendees?
This means that every MozFest attendee will receive a 6-month pre-paid Coil account* stocked with $10 US worth of tips to use on Web Monetized resources and assets at MozFest, in addition to $5 US / month of micropayments to stream to Web Monetized resources and assets that you spend time on each month.
*It should be noted here that all Coil accounts are free for creators. For those that wish to support creators of Web Monetized resources and assets by streaming micropayments to their content for the time that you spend on it each month, you can pay into a $5 US / month subscription. Through The Grand MozFest Web Monetization Experiment, Coil is giving all attendees a 6-month prepaid Coil Membership to stream $5 US worth of micropayments to Web Monetized content each month. To accept your MozFest 6-month pre-paid Coil membership you do not need to input any payment information and will not need to continue the membership after the 6-months, unless you choose to do so.
Can I Web Monetize Resources and Assets that I plan to share at MozFest?
Absolutely. In fact, we are hoping you do, as it will make this experiment much richer.
Next Steps to Joining The Grand MozFest Web Monetization Experiment
Sign up for MozFest. It is 'pay what you can'. You are welcome to use Grant for the Web award funds to purchase a ticket, and if you are unable to contribute much at this time, know that the Interledger Foundation is supporting the festival as a top-level sponsor.
Share an Action Plan in our Community Forem of what Web Monetized Resources and Assets you are going to share at MozFest, so that we can add these to the Galleries.
Also if you are going to be presenting at MozFest, please drop a link to your session in the comments below, so we can share it. And if you are not presenting, but would like to, there are opportunities to share informal events at MozFest with Gradual. Let us know below, so that we can loop you in.

Presenting at MozFest is too much for non-English speaker like me. But still I'll happily support fellow members with that $10 once I get it from Coil. 👍
You are the best, @Radhy. Even if you aren't presenting, but attending and have things of yours you'd like shared in the Web Monetization Galleries, please let me know and I will make sure that they are added. For those that wish it, we are also compiling a list of charity payment pointers that can be used.
Ideally if you are game, can you share the Web Monetized resources and assets you'd like shared at MozFest in a post of your own with 'MozFest Action Plan' in the title, so as to be the trend setter in modelling for everyone else.
I already registered for the ticket but I most probably I will not be attending, Erica. With MozFest I always watch some of their sessions on-demand on YouTube after the fest completed, most of their live sessions happened in midnight where I am living after all. And I'm not really enjoying live interactive sessions as I always prefer learning with my own pace and my English is not well-equiped for live session anyway.
To be honest this is the first MozFest ticket I'm getting and I only get it for a chance into Coil tipping mailing list. Sorry I really can't be joining much there. Really hope the mozfest for fellow WM community members will go smoothly though!

In case you feel like potentially submitting a non-English session in the Emergent Sessions at a time that works for you, @phivk and @gunnar are organizing the Emergent Sessions through Gradual.

I've been in contact with my friends from college for a few months now and ask them to submit proposal for the next wave of GftW that consists of creating resources and hosting offline and online events especially in Indonesian language (because they still in contact with communities of art students made it easier to host events), maybe they will be interested with hosting sessions like this once they could become grantees in the next call for proposal.
